Opportunity:
The legal sector in England and Wales is undergoing a period of unprecedented change. October 2011 sees the introduction of Outcome Focussed Regulation (OFR) and Alternative Business Structure (ABS) by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). This means the legal sector will face several new challenges in the form of changes to regulation, compliance, implementation and monitoring of new systems and processes. Basically law firms need to run their practice as a business and become more customer centric. The impact of Tesco Law will be felt by all firms, not just High Street firms or those who practice retail law. Against the backdrop of the new and ground-breaking regulation, law firms have had to deal with the worst economic climate for many years. Their clients have become more discerning and in doing so, fees have come under pressure along with the natural consequence of lower profit. At best the market is stagnant and the only growth, other than by merger or acquisition, that can be achieved is by taking business away from the competition. To respond to the legislation, the economy and competitive pressure, firms have to look at becoming more efficient, drive out cost and introduce innovation into the DNA of the firm. This means tightening up policies, processes and procedures.With change comes opportunity and law firms that master and control this change will become the leaders of the legal sector.

Role:
This is an exciting prospect to be in at the beginning of this challenging but rewarding opportunity. You will be responsible for leading the sales effort associated with the launch of this unique Business Process Management (BPM) software solution to identify the early adopters in the legal market sector. This is a pure new business generation opportunity selling a comprehensive Business Process Management (BPM) software solution into the legal sector. This Business Process Management (BPM) software solution integrates with Microsoft SharePoint® and InfoPath® and at this stage is specifically aimed at the legal sector. The solution also integrates with most software applications used by the legal sector. The benefits of this Business Process Management (BPM) software solution are outlined below Helps firms show how they meet the OFR ABS compliance and regulatory changes set out by the SRAImproves performance, processes and proceduresSaves time by automating manual business processes Reducing man hours spent on time consuming tasks and eliminating human errorProvides a platform for innovation (see FT Innovative Lawyers)Strong processes makes a law firm more attractive to prospective clients and to potential purchasersDuring an MA the firm with the best systems and processes tends to have the controlUltimately saving money and increasing the stature of the law firmThis is a front office solution that addresses the business needs of a law firm and sold to business level contacts rather than to technical contacts (although technical will become involved at implementation stage). You will be targeting CEOs, Practice Directors, HR Directors, Office Managers and Compliance Officers (Practice and Finance) within law firms ranging in size from 50 fee earners - 100 fee earners - 250 fee earners - 500 fee earners. The complete solution can completely transform the way a law firm operates; however, this requires a large investment. What makes this BPM solution unique is that law firms can make incremental purchases making it less costly, risky and dramatic to the business and once this is achieved the product is viral creating many cross and upsell opportunities.
Person:
A true new business sales person and consistent performer ideally experienced at selling into the legal sector at Practice Management / Managing Partner level. It would be advantageous to have experience of selling Business Process Management (BPM) or comparable software solution to business level contacts within the legal sector. Other solutions could include Workflow, Business Process Analysis (BPA), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Case Management Solutions, Document Management, Business-Critical Law Firm Applications, Risk Management, Regulatory/Compliance Systems, HR or other Internal Administrative Applications.A highly motivated and confident individual who can see the full potential of this opportunity with the ability to open doors and make things happen. An innovator and creative thinker who has the ability to generate run rate business as well converting high value solutions takes accountability for their actions.
