The 10 P’s of Perfect Presentation

Poor Presentation Produces Poor Results

The internet has opened the way to gain the utmost information for your interview.

Prior to your interview you must research the person, the company, the market sector and the role.

You need to have the basic information on the following prior to your interview: -

Company Website

History of the company
Research the relevant section of the website
Products and services and the people

Google

The person
The company
The products/services
The market
Their customers

Linked in

The person and their background
Related companies
The company's ex employeees
The employees in the same job title to the one you are applying for
Map out the company see where the existing people have come from

Once you have this information; create a list of things you have in common

Relevant experience
Similar types of companies you have worked for before
People who you know that may know them
Clients and customers that you both have dealt with before
Similar routes to market

We do not recommend you lead with this information but gaining this knowledge will give you more confidence, a greater understanding of the people and business you could be working with and it gives you the power you to build a relevant conversation.

People buy from people who they like, have something in common with or that takes time to understand them and their company.

Create mini case study’s that relate to the challenges you have identified for role you are applying for.

Again we do not recommend you lead with these but simply have them ready in case you need them.

You will probably only need to use 10% of the information you gained from your research. However, it is better to have information you don’t use rather than not having the information you need.

The more you research, the more things begin to fit in to place and this alone can give you more confidence and secure the career of a lifetime rather than missed opportunity.

There are plenty of sites to help you research which can be found in our research centre.
